Tributes and condolence messages from family, friends & loved ones
The righteous perish, and no one ponders it in his heart; devout men are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil. Those who walk uprightly enter into peace; they find rest as they lie in death. (Isaiah 57:1-2 NIV)
A heart of gold stops beating and two shining eyes are at rest. God broke our hearts to prove that He only takes the best.
Not a day, week or a minute goes by without you being loved and missed. One who possessed beauty without vanity, strength without insolence and courage without ferocity and all virtues of women without vice.
Paulina, we remember your smile, you were loving, caring and were always ready to devote time and resources for us all. You were thoughtful of our needs. You were a sister par excellence, friend, and confidante and always wanted to know if anyone of us had a problem to share in any aspect of life. Your doors were widely opened to receive any of us almost at all times. You always hosted us in your home when we used to have our fortnight prayer nights when your husband was still in active service at the Benkum Senior High School – Larteh.
Paulina, you were the mother of us all when Mama Rebecca passed on in 2001. We thank you. You did not despise anyone but respected every Tom, Dick and Harry. Though your work on earth is done, your name and deeds shall never be forgotten.
Now that you are no longer with us, there is nothing more to ask God but to ask that the Almighty God keep you peacefully in His abode.
Till we meet again on that resurrection morning, may your humble soul rest in everlasting peace.
Sister Paulina, Ama Mansah Kɔ da prεko kom. Dee…..le.
A mother is the truest friend we have, When trials heavy and sudden fall upon us, When adversity takes the place of prosperity, When friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine desert us; ‘’when troubles thickens around us, Still will she cling to us an endear by her kind Precepts and cousels to dissipate the clouds of darkness And cause peace to return to our hearts’’ (Washington Irving.
Although the umbilical cord connecting mother and child is severed at birth, the love and bond between the two are never broken. A mother-always caring, protective and loving. Auntie Paulina, our mother was all of that and even more. Maa, you worked tirelessly throughout your active life to support us and your home. As if that was not enough, you opened your arms and reached out to other needy people as well.
Maa, losing you is something we never thought will be so close to us. You were an amazing example of what a mother should be, you were a mother to your children and to all. Your duties as a mother were executed in the most thoughtful way. You gave yourself in service to us and the entire family, caring for our needs, wants and excesses.
You were a gift to us in so many ways. Saying we will miss you will not take away our feelings. We may not have the chance to talk to you, hug you, see you smile or have a meal with you, but we will cherish the time we had with you, good or bad all make up the amazing moments we shared with you. Our hearts are heavy today but, we are consoled knowing that we will meet again someday.
Rest in the bosom of the Almighty, Maa Rest well until we meet again. We love you now and always.
Fare thee well
The death of our dear grandmother has brought us to the understanding of what the Apostle Paul says in Philippians 1:21 that “for me to live is Christ and to die is gain”.
Our grandmother was known for her caring and pampering anytime we were around her. During those moments, we knew she was letting us know in her own way that she loved and cared for each of us children. Her quiet but strong presence was a steadfast reminder of her feelings.
Grandma, you were a precious gift from God to us. I remember when I was preparing for my BECE examination. You kept pushing me to lean. Today, your effort has yielded results.
Grandma, you have played a pivotal role in our lives and you will remain in our hearts forever. Thank you.
May you find eternal rest in the bosom of the Lord till we meet again.
Fare thee well.
“IF WE LIVE, WE LIVE UNTO THE LORD AND IF WE DIE WE DIE UNTO THE LORD. SO WHETHER WE LIVE OR DIE WE ARE THE LORD’S”. (ROM. 14:8)
We first met as student Nurses at the Presbyterian Nurses Training College, Agogo, Ashante-Akim in the year 1981. We became friends and this relationship grew up and we were more like siblings. Her family and mine became one.
At Agogo Hospital, we joined a singing group named Agogo Hospital Star Singers. She was an Alto singer and I was a Treble singer. We sang happily at Church Services and other gatherings to the Glory of God.
After the training, we worked at the Hospital for 5 years. Then she left to work at the Centre for Scientific Research into Plant Medicine, now Centre for Plant Medicine Research. When she saw that, the place was nearer home and the conditions better, she invited me to join her. We stayed together at Mampong, Ahwerease, Mamfe, till we left finally to join our husbands but continued working at the Centre. We worked peacefully and happily for 29 years before I retired in 2018 and she in 2019.
Soon after her retirement, she started facing health challenges. Whenever I visited her, she will say “Oh Sister, m’aye Oyarefo ooh”. Meaning “Sister, I am now a sick person ooh” and then weep bitterly. So I will sing, console and pray with her before I leave.
Our wish was that, we will leave longer to enjoy our retirement now that, the stress of waking up very early to prepare for work is no more. But the All-knowing God has called you home.
Fare thee well, dear sister. Demirifa due. Onua Dofo da yiye AMEN
Prior to her retirement, she was appointed the Head of section at the Nurses Unit on 1stSeptember, 2016 a position she well held and executed till she retired.
She was everyone’s friend and played well as an essential member of the team at the clinic department.
She was one of the “triplets” the Centre gave birth to. At any moment you found her, she was with Mr. Yankey and Aunty Rose who were also colleagues at the Centre’s clinic. She had this constantly sweet smile on her face and always spoke softly. She was a mother to all the young staff both at the clinic and all the other departments. The Centre was so blessed to have had her worked with them.
May her gentle soul rest in peace till we meet again
